Eden Ahbez（伊甸．阿貝茲），留著一頭「耶穌」般的長髮，以睡袋為家、吃蔬果果腹，據說一星期的生活費不到三美元，徒步穿越美國八次。歌詞裡描述的男孩似乎是他的個人寫照。

1948年Nat King Cole（納京高）發現Ahbez，唱紅了Nature Boy。之後翻唱的人無數，然而因為版權問題，作詞作曲的Ahbez直到離開人世仍舊一貧如洗。在專輯—納京高的世界：辭世40週年紀念專輯 The World of Nat King Cole—裡有（track#5）。
